Poundland which is currently completing internal alterations to the previous occupied Lidl building is believed to have set a target date of opening their new store as early December. Staff are currently undertaking training in preparation of the opening.
This will be another welcomed boost to the retail offering in the town which has seen a number of new stores open in recent times helping to offset a national trend which has seen increased number of vacant shops. The area beside the new store is also undergoing a transformation with a housing development underway.
Winnie Mellett on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce said the addition of a national retailer complements the shopping mix which is being offer by local independent family retailers within the town and helps make Ballymoney a unique shopping destination this Christmas.
