Deputy Mayor joins Thank You Day event in Limavady

The Deputy Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has celebrated the community spirit that came to the fore during the pandemic at a special ‘Thank You Day’ event in Limavady.
Organised by Roe Valley Residents Association, the ‘Covid Catch-Up’ was an opportunity to ‘catch up’ on all the seasons and events that people missed celebrating together due to COVID restrictions.
Held at the group’s new premises in Limavady on Sunday (July 4th), some of the very special guests included Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny along with a host of children’s entertainers which contributed to an afternoon of COVID-safe friendship and fun for all.
Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ashleen Schenning said: “During the pandemic many people have missed out on getting together for all those special celebrations held throughout the year.
“On behalf of Council I would like to say a big ‘well done’ to Roe Valley Residents Association for taking part in the Thank You Day initiative which allowed all of us in the community to express our gratitude to those who helped us through the past 18 months.”
The event was supported through funding from the Virgin Media O2 Together Fund, which is helps small local charities that bring a sense of community spirit, belonging and togetherness.
